In a box from storage, I found a favorite pair of Robert Clergerie platform sandals from a different century... but why did I save these? The pale linen was terribly stained. Maybe because they were so comfortable and on closer inspection, I saw the rest of the shoe was in pretty good shape.
Their timeless style still holds up. So the challenge now? How to salvage these in a new way...and make them fit for wearing again.
Cleaning and stain removers did not do the trick and I really thought I should do someting more fun, anyway.
I walked past the paints I used for the ties and wondered if they might work on linen, too...
Revamped shoes, still comfy and definitely fit for wearing again (and perfect for summer with a pair of cuffed jeans). Glad I saved them after all ;)
